One of the main responsibilities of the Clayton Town Council is to discuss, review and when necessary, control and regulate growth and development within the limits of the town. To aid with these measures, the town council established the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeal and a Town Inspector/Administrator.
The Clayton Town Manager, serves as the Town Inspector/Administrator and is tasked with implementing and management of the towns resources and compliance of ordinance within the town.
All matters that relate to building, building codes, or renovation should be brought to the attention of the Town Inspector/Administrator. At that time the Inspector/Administrator will advise what permits might be required or the steps needed to be taken to accomplish your project.
